Merger with Community First Credit Union Approved!
Members of Miller Electric Credit Union gathered at
the Grand Meridian Wednesday, July 23rd for a special
membership meeting to learn more about and vote on a
proposal to merge with Community First Credit Union.
More than 80 members were in attendance to hear from
the MECU Board of Directors, President Sarah Robertson
and Community First Credit Union President and CEO,
Catherine Tierney. A Q&A session followed the presentations
prior to voting.
The merger proposal was approved by a margin of 62
in favor and 17 opposed and one blank ballot.
"Our Board of Directors and staff are confident
in the expanded opportunities and benefits this merger
will bring to our membership, and are pleased that our
members have chosen to support it as well," said
Miller Electric Credit Union President Sarah Robertson.
"We've been actively researching the needs of our
membership, including their desire for more branches
and additional electronic services and identified Community
First as the best partner for our members' future needs,"
said Robertson."
